Need help or found a problem? Email jeff@becksitconsulting.com. Include your ZIP code and the name of your rate plan if your question is about prices.
How do I find my rate plan?
Your plan's name is on your electric bill, usually near the charges, or in your utility's website or app. In Plugnap, enter your ZIP code and pick the matching plan. If you're not sure, choose the one marked Standard. That's your utility's default plan for homes.
My plan isn't listed
Plugnap uses the public OpenEI Utility Rate Database, which covers most U.S. utilities but not every plan. Email us your utility and plan name and we'll look into it.
How are savings worked out?
Plugnap looks up your plan's price for every hour tonight, then finds the cheapest stretch that's long enough to add the energy you need before your ready-by time. Savings compare that window with plugging in and charging right away. Fixed monthly charges aren't included, because you pay them no matter when you charge. Taxes, fees and usage tiers can make your actual bill a little different.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Plugnap. For the Lock Screen, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then add Plugnap below the clock. Open the app once after choosing your plan so the widget has your prices.
Does Plugnap control my car or charger?
Not yet. Plugnap tells you the best time to charge. You can then set that time in your car's or charger's app, or plug in when it's time.
